1 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway near Gibson Road in Mount Shasta

Mount Shasta, California (April 27, 2023) – Authorities are investigating a major injury car crash that occurred near Mount Shasta on Thursday evening.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on northbound 5 Freeway near Gibson Road at around 5:08 p.m.

Two big rigs and a pickup truck were involved in the collision. The impact of the collision sent a truck off the roadway where it crashed into a tree.

CHP says at least one person suffered major injuries in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
