Motorcyclist Hospitalized after Santa Ana Crash near 405 and 55 Freeways

Orange County, California (May 9, 2023) – A motorcyclist was hurt Tuesday afternoon in a crash at the end of a police pursuit near an intersection in Santa Ana.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 1:30 p.m. near the San Diego (405) and Costa Mesa (55) Freeways.

Santa Ana police were pursuing the motorcycle rider on the southbound 405 when the cycle slammed into a white Mercedes.

The pursuit started at Bristol Street and Sunflower Avenue when the motorcyclist fled after a Santa Ana motor officer tried to pull him over.

The officer canceled the pursuit when the rider entered the freeway.

The motorcyclist was transported to Orange County Global Medical Center in unknown condition for treatment.
