1 Hospitalized After San Rafael Collision on Highway 101 near Francisco Boulevard Off-Ramp

San Rafael, California (April 12, 2023) – One person was hospitalized after a traffic collision involving a big rig that happened Tuesday afternoon in San Rafael, the California Highway Patrol said.

The incident took place at approximately 12:43 p.m. on southbound Highway 101, just north of the Francisco Boulevard off-ramp.

A red Lexus NX 300 SUV collided with the rear of a big rig for unknown reasons.

Paramedics responded and transported one person to Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

CHP is investigating to establish the cause of the accident.
