1 Injured in Costa Mesa Accident on 405 Freeway at Highway 73

Costa Mesa, California (March 16, 2023) – One person sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon in Costa Mesa, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The accident happened around 12:29 p.m. on March 15 on the southbound 405 Freeway at Highway 73.

Per the dispatch, two vehicles crashed for reasons still under investigation.

Police confirmed at least one person suffered minor injuries due to the crash. 

The vehicles were blocking lane 1 and the HOV lane following the collision. The vehicles were towed away, and the roadway re-opened as of 1:42 p.m.

No additional information concerning this crash was released.

The incident remains under investigation.
