1 Hurt in Sunol Car Accident on Highway 84 near 680 Freeway

Sunol, California (February 23, 2023) – One person was hospitalized following a five-vehicle collision on Wednesday morning in Sunol, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.

The accident occurred on westbound Highway 84, just east of 680 Freeway, at about 9:26 a.m. on February 22.

Police confirmed five vehicles collided for unknown reasons.

Responding emergency crews and medical personnel attended to at least one person who complained of leg pain following the collision. The patient was taken to the hospital for further treatment.

A SigAlert was issued, closing the roadway in both directions. The SigAlert was canceled, and the lanes re-opened as of 10:46 a.m.

The vehicles were towed away from the accident location.
