Berkeley, California (December 14, 2022) – According to a California Highway Patrol report, one person was hospitalized following a car accident on Tuesday morning in Berkeley.

The accident occurred at about 11:17 a.m. on December 13 on the westbound 80 Freeway, just west of Ashby Avenue.

Per the dispatch, three vehicles collided for reasons yet to be determined.

Responding fire officials and medical personnel attended to one person who broke their ankle due to the accident. The patient was transported to Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley.

The vehicles were blocking lanes 1 and 2 following the crash. 

Tow trucks were requested to remove the cars from the accident location.

All lanes were opened as of 12:03 p.m.

No other information concerning this crash was provided.
