1 Killed, Several Hurt in Fairfield Accident at East Tabor Avenue and Railroad Avenue

Fairfield, California (April 26, 2023) – One person died, and several others were injured after a crash involving an Amtrak train at an intersection in Fairfield Wednesday morning.
According to the Fairfield Fire Department, the collision occurred near East Tabor and Railroad Avenues at around 8:30 a.m.
An eastbound Amtrak train struck a car, causing significant damage. The first vehicle hit another car, also causing major damage to the car.
Authorities said one person, whose identity was not disclosed, died in the collision.
Several parties were transported to a hospital with injuries ranging from moderate to major.
About 120 people, including passengers and crew, boarded the train, but no injuries were reported
East Tabor Avenue was closed between Clay Bank and Tolenas roads, and Railroad Avenue was closed from Suisun.
Officials had reopened the road by early Wednesday afternoon.
The incident remains under investigation.
