A blue pickup truck and a silver car were involved in the crash. The vehicles were blocking traffic lanes, and one of them was overturned, with occupants possibly trapped inside.

One person suffered severe injuries in the accident. The Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatched a helicopter to airlift the patient to the hospital.

The air ambulance landed near the scene moments later and transported the victim to an unknown hospital.

PCH remained blocked in both directions during rescue and investigation.

At around 8:30 p.m., southbound lanes were still blocked, but northbound motorists were being allowed to pass at regular intervals. The northbound lane was expected to be reopened shortly after.
